“Doing the EUJAM exchange gave me friends and colleagues I’m still close with over 10 years later. I’ve had countless of great experiences, memories and opportunities that was helped along by me doing the program. I can’t guarantee that you’ll have a good time – but seeing how schools all ebb and flow differently, both from a student and faculty perspective, is an enlightening experience I’d recommend to anyone.

I feel like I’m working with extremely different things than I thought I would at the time I was studying, so I guess I’d say you should not be underestimating any course you’re taking – If I hadn’t skipped so many Max MSP classes in Amsterdam, I would be saved some frustration later on. Thank God they let me pass that one. (I did eventually get super into it years later and built some fun things, so it did maybe sneak in somehow)”

“To study in different European cities at conservatories with very diverse profiles not only strengthened my musical vision but also my character. A fantastic experience that enabled me to build up a network from which I am profiting now by making records and playing tours with people that I met during my EUJAM-time!”

“Participating in the EUjam program was an extremely enriching experience. Beyond the opportunity to meet many European musicians, it was a chance to immerse myself in the cultures of the cities where I studied: how jazz is practiced, which aesthetics are most prevalent, and also how jazz is taught. When I left Paris in 2012 for Copenhagen and Berlin, I was able to experience this diversity, which still nourishes my career as an artist and teacher.”
