Learning from the jazz tradition The Jazz Performance Programme’s core values focus on aural learning, peer-to-peer communicative learning, and a strong and thriving learning environment to facilitate development of musicality in all students. The composition of faculty and curricula also support this although theoretical, technical, business, academic and cultural aspects are strongly emphasised as well. The goal is to educate independent and highly skilled musicians that through their own musical choices can develop strong collaborations with other musicians and the industry, holding high ethical and sustainable standards.
The performance studies i NTNU Department of Music is located in Olavshallen in the centre of Trondheim together with The Municipal Culture School and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. Many venues within walking distance provide numerous concert and jamming opportunities and participation in organising concert series and clubs with fellow music students.
